At crucial.com, you can get 2 gigs for macbook for about $90. The stuff they're calling "best." I didn't check other mac products, but it looks like the sell RAM for all macs. For all I've heard about mac RAM being expensive, this is very cheap. Has anyone bought from here?

Always. I've been buying Crucial RAM exclusively for my PCs for years. I also use it on my Mac. I have never had anything but good experience with them and their customer service is top notch. Modern Macs use the very same memory that equivalent PCs do, there is no special magic that makes it Mac-specific.

Newegg has an even cheaper option, but it looks as though all my recommendation here has made it go out of stock :p

i got mine from crucial...glad i made the decision 2x1GB sticks for $103 + tax...just watch it...they will charge you $11.50 for 2 day or overnight and then UPS will tell you that they only provide that service for businesses...i had to call crucial back and tell them...at first they didnt believe me...crucial had me on hold while they checked with a supervisor to see if they could refund me...so while i was on hold i 3-wayed UPS and had them hold on the line with me...when crucial came back on the line i let them speak directly with UPS

Are you sure you need the 240 Pin ones, because Crucial.com told me it is the 200 pin?

This is the specs of the RAM I pulled out frmo my Black MacBook when I did the upgrade - Hynix 512MB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Notebook Memory. It is definitely 200-pin.

You're right - I meant to say the opposite. The link he posted was for 240-pin modules, notebooks require 200-pin SODIMMs.
