I have Photoshop CS2 and Acrobat Professional installed on my MacBook Pro.

I have set all my image files to open with Photoshop and all of my PDF files to open with Acrobat but when I open any of these types of files, they open in Preview.

How do I keep this from happening? Do I have remove Preview from my computer?

TIA

How exactly did you set them to open with Photoshop and Acrobat?

The following method should always work for any file kind:

Find one file of that file kind. (e.g., find one PDF)
File > Get Info
In the "Open with" section, choose the app you want. (e.g., choose Acrobat)
Then click the "Change All..." button right under it.

Now, all files of that kind should open with the app you just chose.

note:
The file icons for the other files of that kind might not have changed immediately though.
They will change the next time you login, or if you relaunch the Finder (Command Option Escape).

Thanks for the response.

I set it exactly as you've oultlined but it doesn't "stick".

After I restart my computer, it defaults back to using Preview.
