Recording programme

I was wondering if there is a rcording programme available. For example if you were watching a DVD on your macbook you could record the sound track as you watch.

Its a bit rustic but I use garage band. Its sound great but you have to be quite as it uses the mike. If you have more equipment its easier.

you could just get one of these cables run the audio out to the audio in, and use any sound recorder. That is way jerry-rigged, but hey if it works. you may also be able to use this program. Audio Hijack

Your Mac's Specs
13 inch Macbook Pro Retina, 2.7ghz, 128gb SSD
1. Download mac the ripper - http://www.mactheripper.org/
2. save the DVD on your mac using mac the ripper
3. open the movie with quicktime
4. go to window>show movie properties
5. click on audio
6. click on extract on the top
7. save the audio file
8. you can change that format to Mp3 by importing it into itunes and right click on it and select convert selection to Mp3

if this option is not available then go to itunes preferences click on advanced then click on importing and finally change the 'import using' option to mp3
