Is anyone having compatibility problems with a mac? (I've got a MacBook Pro). iPhoto and Apature arent allowing me to import, and Finder isn't letting me even see the files...

A key question that might help is what format are you shooting in?

If its Raw, it might not be supported, if your shooting in JPG (jpeg) then theres something else we need to look into

Aperture is compatible with Nikon's RAW format, iPhoto should also be compatible. Is this the first time you try to import photos? Is your card working correctly? Is your software up to date?
The first thing i would try is to use the memory card with a regular USB reader, to discard it as a problem.

I'm shooting in JPEG. This is the first time I am importing with this camera, and even when I use the memory card with a card reader, it still does not work.

I'm shooting in JPEG. This is the first time I am importing with this camera, and even when I use the memory card with a card reader, it still does not work.

The problem is your card then, you have to reformat it and try again.
Remember that when you connect your camera to your computer (PC or Mac) it just acts as a card reader, the software (Lightroom, iPhoto, Aperture) identifies the file structure in the card and then will offer you the option to impor/export photos. Sometimes due to writting problems the information is corrupted, thus a reformating the card is required. I hope this helps.

Save the pics on your pc and reformat your card. trying putting the images back on the card after you reformat and see if works then, remember make sure you backup your pictures before reformating!

Lets not turn this into an anti-Nikon thread folks. Try and show some maturity here.
