Documents aren't opening

My notepad docs aren't opening =\ I tried everyother program and even downloaded a new notepad, and I got nothin'.
Can anyone help??

Text Edit.app is the text editor that comes with the OS. It works pretty well, I believe that you can find it in your applications folder.

do a, right-click > get info on any .txt document and see what "opens with" says.

you may want to assign them to something else and then ok, and then reassign back to text edit.app.
