just wodnering if anyone has any suggestions for speeding up the startup of my G5? it seems to be getting slower and slower without me really changing or adding things. I do not have many login items and therefore am not sure why it is going so slow.

is there any software or tricks that may help this?

thanks!

In case this helps. it's a Dual 2.3Ghz PowerPC G5 with 2.5Gb of Ram. running OS 10.4.9.

one thing is that you should have all sticks of ram in the same amount. Like all sticks be 1 gig or all sticks be 2 gig. Dont mix ram amounts, it could effect your performance. Take that 512 stick out and see what happens. Report back afterwards, ok?

yeah i might try that. it came setup with the 512mb when i got it from an Apple Store, so I would assume it shouldn't cause problems. but i'll give it a shot and see if it helps. thanks.
