My girlfriend and I share our Mac using our own user accounts and are both into customizing our desktops. I downloaded the CandyBar demo and have been playing with it, I love it but the issue is that the icons are being changed for both of our accounts. Is it possible to change icons either using CandyBar or through Get Info for only one user and not all user accounts?

It depends on the icons you're changing...

If you're changing application icons, they'll be changed for all users, as all OS X users access the same application copies (Under /Volumes/Harddrive/Applications). Anything that lives in your respective user folder can be customized though.

The only way to get individual application icons would be to create a separate application folder inside each user's home folder and add copies of all the apps to that.

But that's a bit of a hassle just for some icons IMO.

A hassle-free solution? Buy her a macbook ;)
