hi my names Caroline

I have been having some probs saving a CMYK TIFF (for printing in a magazine) from photoshop.
what happens is this-
the colors look ACE on screen and then when i save as TIFF it goes all manky and dull.
The greens are drab, the pinks go mauve etc.....it looks drab.

can anyone please help me.
I cant save in any other format unfortunately, only TIFF.
is there something im doing wrong?? or need to do? to preserve colours.
thankyou!

Are you in Photoshop? Does it look dull if you save as a PSD file? What colour space are you saving in?

You need to embed a colour profile in the file so this isn't a question of file format. Ask the mag which colour profile they need you to send the file in. And calibrate your monitor so that when you work on a file in Photoshop, you'll get as close as possible to what you see on your screen vs. what will print (i.e. use Adobe RGB 1998 for your screen and as colour profile in Photoshop).
