Every once in awhile, when I pop a dvd in my superdrive, it wont show up on the desktop. When I go into dvd player, it says no disc found, despite the fact thats theres one in there.

A simple restart and theres no problem. Anyone know what may be wrong?

Could it be a disc problem? Try it with other discs, see if the same problem exists.

If it is a disk problem, back it up/make a copy.

When it does it (its working fine now) it does it with any disc. But a restart will solve it. It doesn't do it often, but it happens from time to time.

I can't answer why this is happening, but sometimes you can fire up Disk Utility and see if the disc shows up unmounted. If so, you can select the disk and click mount. That'll save you the time involved with a restart.

I've had this happen occasionally with external drives (and my iPod).
