wel i have the mighty mouse (wired) which came with my imac.

it is scrolling like 10 lines at a time and an example of this is on the mac-forums home page it takes a few clicks (of the wheel) to get it to the bottom it is just too fast

i have tried the system prefs and restarting etc

nothing works

Something must work, chris ... have you rebooted? What if you turn the Tracking down?

This is difficult to troubleshoot .... It's also wierd that it does it with other mice too?

What if you create another account to test it out again?

I wonder if the keyboard/mouse preference pane got messed up? Was looking for a .plist for it but all I can find so far is the keyboard preference pane. When I click on that in the Library it brings up your mouse settings.

Since you did say it messes up with other mice, it can not be the Mighty Mouse.

Not many, have you tried unplugging it and other usb devices and reconnecting? Also, have you added any new hardware to your setup recently? Or made any changes at all?

Have you fiddled around in the Prefs, changing all the settings around ... it's worth a try.

Just for clarifications sake ... you have tried assigning different functions to the scroll ball, left/right click and the squeezy bits on the sides?

Does my attached image mirror what you see in your System Profiler (Blue apple icon -> About This Mac -> More Info)

Chris,

You need to highlight the Apple Optical USB Mouse so that the correct info is displayed.
