None of them come close to matching the beauty of an Apple product (especially not an iBook), IMO.

har, har! iBook killers!?!?! not only does apple's beauty far outstrip those PC clones, the bang for the buck is a no-contest, too.

you can get a WHOLE lot more in an iBook with a few upgrades, not to mention the OSX advantage.

there is no comparison here. seriously, it is like comparing a hot steamy t*urd to a diamond.

they also dont mention Apple demonstrated a G4 867mhz (?) beating a P4 1.7Ghz :p so I think its unfair because the 1.6 looks like its faster than the 800mhz iBook

Yeah in some things. IE: number crunching programs like Photoshop and 3D Studio maybe. But not games.

The ibook looks cool, but I would have thought panther would have put it first place. Remember the Megahertz myth?

iBook killers? That's funny. Those look like any other generic reboot machine out there.

I have looked all over... Dunno what it is but no notebook is as sweet and a thing of beauty as an Apple is, iBook or Powerbook :)

The good: Light; long battery life; slot-loading combo CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive; solid keyboard; fast video card; 802.11g networking option.
The bad: 640MB maximum RAM; no option for an internal DVD burner; weak support offering.

you can now get 1.25gb ram, superdrive and apple gives support

and if you look at the bottom of http://reviews.cnet.com/Apple_G4_iBook_series/4505-3121_7-30588509.html?tag=lst

Toshiba A-40
$1,179

2.66 GHz Intel Pentium 4
256MB Ram; 40GB Ram
Windows XP Pro

40gb ram!??!! ;)

I looked and looked and looked....

You can't find a Wintel notebook with even close to the same beauty, price, and performance as the iBook for the money anywhere. They just don't exist!

It's true, and the Dell stand curiously almost directly under the Apple store at the mall here is cutting nearly amazing deals. But I walked away when the sales dude told me that I have to get xp, I asked for Novell SuSE, but no... It's ok, I got a Mac instead! :p
