Hey I just got a new iMac, I'm curious to know how Apple goes about to uninstall applications. Do you just drag it to the trash from you applications folder?

Yeah Mac's don't use uninstallers. You just simply drag the program to the trash.

Some programs do come with uninstallers but they are usually left in the .dmg file and trashed after installation. Dragging the unwanted app to the trash is the way most do it and you can even add a SpotLight search into the equation to pick up the .plist files that are left behind if you really want.

AppZapper (linky) is a cool app that does all this for you with a rather speccy sound effect thrown in.

AppZapper is for people who want to confidently try new apps while knowing they can uninstall them easily.

Also, a quick search for uninstalling programs would have given you quite a few responses. Just something to keep in mind for next time ;)
