My help files are just gone... BUT I can access them fine as root What's the best way to restore to my reg user?

Problem solved. Method: go into Finder > user name >library > preferences control click all 3 help pref files to trash. Reopen Mac help and it regenerates new ones and works fine! :) :D :)
