• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I have a 2002 ibook with OS X V10.3.9. and imovie V4.0.1 and am trying to connect my Sony MiniDV (model no.DCR-PC101) camcorder to work for me. I found out that I need an iLink wire from the camcorder to the Firewire on the comp. Here is the question. Where can I find a genuine cable that will work for my comp. and camera? I looked at ebay and there are hundreds of them. I dont want the wrong thing as I am having it shipped to me in Afghanistan and that takes 3 weeks. If it is the worng thing then its 3 weeks back and so on. I just need a link... please.
