mac mini fan noise

i am considering purchasing a mac mini as a media center

i currently have a pundit-r (which is starting to get noiser and noiser)

i just wondered how lound the mac mini was?

20" iMac Core 2 Duo 2.16Ghz, 500GB HDD, 1GB RAM, 128MB ATI Radeon X1600
Uhh the Mac mini does not have a fan in it at all - so its pretty much silent.

Well, it must, mines seems to make a lot of noise, and you can feel air from the back...

Maybe that's got something to do with me using a PPC adapter with the Intel mini.:Oops:

Your Mac's Specs
Mac Mini 1.83, iBook G3 800, iMac G3 233, Mac Classic, Apple IIc. And too many PC's to count.
Wrong, the Mini does have a fan (Why else would I get a kick out of hearing mine scream at 5500 RPM :D)

It usually hovers around 1500-2000 RPM, which is near silent. And basically, Mini's don't use their fan at all.(The temperature will keep rising, and the fan will never kick on unless you make it) Which means you may need to crank the speed up yourself when you hit 160-160 degree's Fahrenheit. (Which doesn't happen that often, unless you use a lot of apps that need a lot of processing power.)
