brand new from 1299 to 599? that's a 700 price drop.

They just changed prices on monitors last week so they probably just have to update the refurb database

They probably have it linked to the price that the original purchaser paid which was $1300 when it came out

brand new from 1299 to 599? that's a 700 price drop.

I thought from your post that you meant the refurbed price was listed the same as the new price

maybe it's just me, but i think that is false advertising by having the "original price" there

I don't see why you should think that. Its not like the original price is really of any significance anyways.

Exactly. What matters is the price it is selling for now.
The original price quoted is what that particular item sold for originally, it has nothing to do with the prices listed on the current store.

i know it would be considered users fault,

but if i just went to refurb site and saw the 800 price difference between the original price and the refurb price. then i bought it, cause it show's 800 difference, then when i see the price of it brand new is at 599 instead of 1299 then wouldn't the buyer feel cheated in a way.

i understand that it would be the users fault because he didn't browse completely but if a website like apple.com displays original price, won't it lead one to think that the original price of it brand new is 1299 and when that happens, it's natural that one would think that original price brand new is the same as the current selling price.

Surely the refurb site shows the original price that specific device was sold for, not the range it belongs to?
