Good Afternoon to all the fine people of the Mac-Forums.

I have this problem that I need some help with. I am flying out to Milwaukee, WI next monday for Job Related training, and I'll be stuck there for 3 weeks.

The issue is that I have to take the Work Laptop (Windows... Go Figure! :biohazard )

Anyways, I wanna take my MacBook as well so I can do some personal work and be able to keep intouch with the family back in NC. Now I stopped by the FedEx Store to see what my options were to ship out the work laptop out there while I carry my shiney new Mac on board. Well they kinda scared of the idea.

The question is will it be too much of a pain to take both laptops with me on the Plane or it would be a disaster when it comes to Airport Security Issues and all the good stuff.

If anyone knows anything about the possiblities I'd greatly appreciate it. My Computer Bag will have enuff space to carr both Laptops with no protection issue.

So let me hear your thoughts please. I'd hate to leave my MacBook behind  I'd go crazy out there for 3 weeks. Plus they don't really allow personal apps on the work laptop... Go Figure.

I would say that you should decide which one you do not need while in flight and check that one with the rest of your baggage (preferably inside of your baggage) at the check-in desk.

I will probably not need to power either of them on while am flying, with the seats all cramped up it just too much of a pain. but I'd probably check in the work laptop on the plane.

I travel with 2 laptops all the time. Not a big deal, just take them both out of your carry on bag for security to screen and then put them away. Overhead storage space is usually sufficient, but on the puddle jumpers I just gate check my computer bag and pick it up when I get off that plane. I STRONGLY advise against checking a computer that you ever want to see again.

After seeing how airport staff threw my luggage around on one particular journey - thus creating a massive crack in a brand new case - I'd never check in a bag with a Laptop in! Heck, I even have my hair straighteners in my carry-on luggage because I'd be devastated if they broke. Pathetic? Yes ;)

I'm with you, flic. Some hair straightening irons are terribly expensive!

MinaMacMan, take both and be happy!

I went through the Airport Check point with no proplems they didn't even ask me to turn on either computers, how cool is that?

Needless to say I am pretty happy about it and thanks to everyone who posted here that encouraged me to go for it and take my Beloved MacBook with me.

Cheers to all of you :D :D
