Saving Images

Ok so when i make something in gimp then save it, im prompted to export then I do with 100% quality. But when ever I open it its looks really hazzy and distorted alittle. Is there something Im doing to cause this. Should I save in a differnt format?

What format are you currently using? I suggest using Jpeg.

I was using .JPG for regular images, and .PNG for anything containing transparency.

Where are you intending to use these images?
Can you post up some examples of how they look?

I deleted all the ones I have made. I was using them on blogs, and other sites.
