Quick question on the cd drive

Upon loading a cd into the drive my macbook sometimes makes a popping sound when the cd is sucked in. The cd plays fine and all just wasn't sure about this sound and wanted to make sure it was normal.

Since I just got my MacBook on Monday I have tried a few CD and I know exactly what you are talking about, it seems to me that its a normal sound of the mechanism of the Drive nothing more!

But then again I'd rather hear a confirmation from the Mac Pros on this forum.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I just bought my black macbook and am a new mac user. My specs are 2 gigs ram, 160 hd, intel core 2 duo. Loving it so far, but was also curious about the sound it amkes. Mine makes a "wee......... kadek kadek.....kadek kadek" noise. I guess its normal...right!?!?

So what kind of sound does it make again?

If some of us in this post experienced the popping sound, it must be normal. cheers ...

And yeah, I believe its normal with that noise, and I guess thats the only draw back on slot loading drives.
