g4 dead only start button lights when pushed

I unplugged my G4 accidentally while it was in snooze mode
I can not restart it .I press the start-up button which lights up but goes out as soon as i remove my finger. There is no start up chime or connection with the screen just nothing other than the start up button lighting whilst depressed. Has any one else had this happen? Any suggestions?

Inside the cover, near the battery is a little silver button. You only press the button once, and then restart as the computer.

I had exactly the same trouble with my G4 six months ago
That time I took it to a shop to be repaired and was charged £70.
So really appreciate your help.
