Hi all,

I've searched the forums and google to no avail. I'm trying to find out if there is a way to disable the Device Removal warning when a flash drive or other external device is disconnected. I'm a PC tech of over 8 years and this is the same kind of thing you see on Win2K. It just seems a bit like old technology to keep it in such a fine OS.

You know to eject the drive first, right?

You get that notification if you haven't ejected the media first, as surf said.

Again, just like in win2K. You have to eject it via software before removing it in hardware? That's simply archaic. Is there not a way to completely disable that warning? Even XP is able to detect when the device has been removed and not splash a warning across the display.

I love MacOS, but it is rather inelegant to have a two step process for something as simple as unplugging a USB device.
