Could be a loose connection at the HDD controller..... just serviced one now actually, same problem.....

Not a heat issue, but the flashing question mark issue....

Could be intermittent, meaning that when you tested the HDD it was holding connection fine......

Could be, might not be..... didn't really read the whole thread.....

flashing question mark is not a problem anymore as i reinstalled my OS and now it starts up fine everytime just seems to get hot after and freeze while the wheel spins forever
