I'm still very new to Macs so hopefully this isn't too silly of a question.

I suddenly have a Burn Folder on my desktop. I don't think I did anything that would put it there. I haven't tried to burn a disk or anything.

Any ideas where it came from or what I should do with it?

You might have created it from under File in the menu bar, or with the contextual menu after a right-click on the desktop.

Make sure it's empty, then trash it.

thanks for the solution... i thought it had something to do with Toast... but i right clicked on my desktop and sure enough there was an option for "New Burn Folder"... don't know why i was afraid to delete it in the first place..

even if it wasn't empty you could still delete it. you can't actually drag files to a burn folder. it will automatically create aliases, leaving your originals in place.
