I just got my mac back from apple after reciving a new logic and camera boards. I booted it up, everything is fine with the computer. here is the werid thing. Newxt to my mac on my desk i have one of those electra lamps, like this. It is plugged in to an outlet on the back of my stereo, the stereo is plugged into an octapus that my mac is also plugged into. When i turn the lamp on it automatically shows all windows on my mac screen ( the same as the inside thumb button on my mouse does ) anybody know what is up with this ?

it is pretty cool.

Separate the Mac and the lamp to different plugs. Something is sending an odd signal down the power cable to the Mac. You could be endangering your power supply.

Your Mac should be on a good surge protector and even better a good UPS. I agree with Baggss. Get that lamp off that circuit and protect your mac.

Very strange goings on...

In the words of the infamous Dr. Henry Lee (of Simpson trial fame) ... ``something long".
