Virus from porno junk??

The other day I left a couple of my friends at my house, while I went to the store really quick. BAD DECISION. They got on my computer and were joking around getting on tons of porn sites. They even downloaded one clip, and were like "click on that!" laughing. So I clicked on it, then realized what it was. I yelled at them and told them I was probably gonna get some stupid virus from it! They were like "I thought macs couldn't get viruses". But I know there are SOME viruses macs can get. If you're not an idiot about what you do with your computer, you don't really have to worry about them!

Ever since that day I've been getting the "spinning wheel of death" all the time. I keep having to force quit safari, sometimes when I'm in the middle of something important! It seems like my computer only does that when Safari is open, but I'm not %100 sure.

What can I do to fix this?! I really don't have the time/money to take it in to get it fixed! Plus my dad would be really mad if he found out I let other people use my computer, because he bought it for me.

Is there anything I can do without taking it in?!

Download and run Onyx. Let it check the drive for any repairs, and if it says it needs to be fixed, tell it to fix it.

Under the Maintenance tab in Onyx, click on "Optimize" on the far right, then "Complete Optimization," then "Execute." After it runs, it'll say the machine should be restarted. Do so, then start Onyx again for the rest.

Under the "Cleaning" tab, click on everything, unless you have forms that fill in automatically. If so, leave it alone but click on all the rest, especially Cookies. One or more may be from the porn site. Click on "Execute."

(Whenever Onyx tells you the machine should restart, do so, but start Onyx again to continue on from where you left off.)

Under "Caches," click on everything. I haven't a clue about the stuff under "Options." If you don't, either, leave it alone. Then click "Execute."

Under "Logs," click on everything except the "Software Update Log." But even if you click on that, it wouldn't matter. Software Update itself doesn't use the log to keep track of anything.

Under "Trash," click on "Securely Delete." It isn't likely anything is in the trash, and it's even less likely it wouldn't delete if it was, but it can't hurt. Then click "Execute."

Under "Misc," click on everything, unless you have any "Saved Searches" and email attachments you want to keep. If you do, leave those two alone. If you don't have any Saved Searches, click on it anyway because you may have created one accidentally — or your friends may have. Click "Execute."

That's it for Onyx. The rest of the stuff at the top is unimportant for your purposes.

When you restart the machine when Onyx tells you to or for the final time after Onyx is done, it might take longer because the files it uses to speed its starting have been deleted by Onyx. The system has to rebuild those files.

You might notice, as well, that your available RAM is less, because the machine had to use RAM to rebuild the files. If you restart a second time, everything will be back to normal.

Yeah, Macs are pure, and so are their users. But there's no virus on deathtolife04's machine. His friends might have done something else to it, though.

Quite a while ago I used a bunch of porn sites (they're the worst) to prove Macs are not susceptible to viruses and spyware. I downloaded stuff, including the "free-offer" junk touted to remove spyware. I even *gasp* opened the junk that would open. None of the "spyware removers" would, of course.

None of it made any difference to the Mac. None of it made any difference to me, either, because, of course, I'm pure.

It seems someone forgot to turn on "Private Browsing."

Just emptying safari's cache and cookies should do the trick.

my friends are PC people. it's horrible.
