Quality loss from converting?

I found some data CDs of older music of mine. They're all in .mp3 format.
How much quality loss will there be converting from .mp3 files to AAC file?
The .mp3s vary from 128K to 320K bit rates. I want to convert to 128K VBR AAC files.
