HD visualising

hi all, in my pc days i used a nifty little prog called scanner which gave a pie chart representation og the HD and allowed you to click on parts of teh pie to see more detail in the directories enclosed. i found it to be an excellent way to get a quick bearing on what was using most room. here is a screenshot to give a better idea:



ive tried searching version tracker but am perhaps using the wrong terminology, has anyone seen similar for osx?

I've been looking for something similar too. But the best I could do is check the properties manually.

I don't think there is anything like that for the unix environment. Due the way unix file systems are created. Also most unix work at defraging the disk on the file.

Yes but that only shows the disk space used and empty, not individual items/folders. Oh well, maybe something will come up in the future...

ive found a few things which visualise it with "cushions" which are areas of the screen which are sized proportionally with their file sizes. but as yet they are pc only too. still looking,

ps- panther is pretty good

cool glad it works, will keep a note of it for panther day. whenever that may be, got a list an arm long at the moment and external HD is top of it right now - hence the need for this app
