hey guys,

I remember reading a thread on GNUCash (an open source software), am afraid I have no idea which of the many versions to download though and how to 'compile' and run it on OS X (UNIX) any ideas?

thanks...

Download whatever version for:
freeBSD
Darwin
or powerppc

An install is usually;

cd to folder where source is
./configure
make
make install (might need to be sudo before this)

tho some are different. Read the readme and/or the Install file.

Ok I think i'm way out of my league here... cos although what u said sounds relatively simple, I can't even begin to navigate around Unix using terminal. (no background whatsoever)

haha guess i'll either have to go learn up Unix or just leave it be...

I choose the latter.

Thanks anyway...

At least now I have a greater appreciation for what goes on behind the scenes in Mac OS X. *grinz*
