Trash Can in finder side menu

is it possiblle to put the trashcan in the finder side menu

Get info on trash and see who has ownership

Wow. Thanks for you post. It convinced me to get info in my trash folder. I just pulled the preview of the trash can into my finder side bar and now its there. So I guess it is possible

scratch that after reboot it disapears from the menu any one have a solution?

Naw, don't know how, but at least for me, within Finder - right click and select Move to Trash is easier than drag n drop

or just cmd+del.

There's the free Wastebasket that works like an alias. You can download it from versiontracker.com. It allows you to put the trash can on the desktop, as in days of yore. It links to the real trash, but the icon doesn't change when anything's in it.

However, you could put the Wastebasket (you can rename it) in any folder, then drag it to the dock where you'd end up with two trashes. Since both would be in the dock, it wouldn't matter that the Wastebasket icon doesn't change.

Another app, Bin-it, shows up at versiontracker with the search for Wastebasket. But it constantly runs in the background (and it's nagware).

Oops. After downloading the thing and working with it, I wrote about the dock, not the finder sidebar. Wastebasket can go there, too.
