Ok so im new to the mac world, but my question is I bought a iBook and when i first got it, it needed to be updated but before i did the security update i was playin around with it listening to music (iTunes worked fine)

then after i did the security update i tried to load itunes and as soon as i click on it on the bottom task bar it bounces and then the pinwheel comes up but i never loads and when i ctrl click it it says "Application Not Responding" and i have to force quit it, any ideas. thanx for help in advance.

im honestly gettin sooo frustrated ive been tryin to deal with this for 2 days now.. and i dont even want to move on till i fix this.. i mean its a mac itunes was made for this. :eek:neye:

Also is there maybe a number that i can call apple at and maybe get some help?

Find and delete the file:

com.apple.itunes.plist

Ditto. Get into finder then applications. Put them into a list so they are alphabetical. Right click and move to trash. Then I would re boot and reinstall. This is advice from another new to Mac's user.

Finder is the face at left on the dock (usually at the bottom of the screen) Move the cursor to it and it will show "Finder" Click to open. If it is already open you may need to go to GO drop down menu and choose applications from the drop down menu iTunes shows as a cd with a blue music sybol in the icon under applications in finder. just drag it to the trash can and its gone.
There was another program called AppZapper I think. You install it and get 4 free uses. It will delete programs or you. See how you go and good luck.....I remember being new to Apple after years of Windows.

Did you do a Spotlight search? It's got to be there...

I suggest getting a program like AppZapper or AppDelete. Drag iTunes from your Application folder onto their icon and it'll get rid of the app and all the associated Library files.

Then go to Apple's website and download iTunes. Starting fresh should get rid of the problem.

Uh, spotlight is the search feature of OSX. It's the blue circle in the upper right hand corner of your screen....has a magnifying glass inside of it....

Well, at least you got your problem solved, and that's what counts, right?
