I'm not sure what you mean. One thing to consider, is that on a mac there are all kinds of programs which can read pdf, so these 'features' would differ depending on the application you use. Obviously, the features available to you would be vastly different if you were to open the same pdf in Preview and in Acrobat Professional.
Again, it's a little hard to understand what you're asking. PDFs can contain almost any kind of content, type, vector and raster graphics, hyperlinks etc. With some software, they are highly editable, other software might only allow you to view them. On macs, they're easy to create, and there's a whole heap of software out there to help you edit, join and modify them. Hope that answers your question, somewhat...
