Swapped out a dead dvd burner on a G5 and now the gate (not sure if that's the right term) only opens halfway when you eject. Not sure if it matters, but I did use a dvd from another Mac. Any ideas?

Dvd

Posted this yesterday, but I thought I'd repost it here since I seem to get more responses from thos forum. I swapped out a dead dvd burner on a G5 and now the gate (not sure if that's the right term for the silver rectangle that goes up and down) only opens halfway when you eject. Not sure if it matters, but I did use a dvd from another Mac. Any ideas?

Sounds like the DVD drive is not properly aligned and the gate is getting stuck. Loosen the screws and move the drive until the door opens all the way then tighten them back down.
