Hi Guys,

Being a new convert to the Mac community I recently bought a 17" Macbook Pro & I have found that when importing my cd's into 256kbps MP3 it takes forever to import.

Now my PC zips along and converts it almost 2 cd's to 1 on the mac:( , is there something that I am missing in one of my settings as I would really like to make it import faster.

Cheers

Check your processor settings. It's under Energy Saver in the System Preferences.

Yeah I have checked that and it is optimized for high performance, at this stage it is a bit embarrassing that my P4 PC is quicker at importing than my Mac

You MBP has a 24x laptop drive. I'm betting your PC has a faster CD read speed, probably 52x? If thats the case, then yes, your PC will be able to import CDs faster.
