hello guys. I know this a mac forum but I think someone here might be able to help me. I do own a imac g5 and a macbook, just to let you know. Well here is my question. I have my older pc that I build as a final project while attending HEALD COLLEGE. I haven't used it since I got my imac. But recently I needed to get it going so I can play command and conquer 3. What do you guys think of these two video cards? I will be hooking up my pc to a 32 proview lcd screen. My computer is a 2.4 pentium 4. with 1 1/2 gb of ram.

What video card do you currently have?

For starters, those video cards you linked to are in completely different leagues. The 7800 just blows the socks off of the X1300. Now, most people would recommend you get the 7800, but I see a bit of a problem.

Your other system components might be a bit of a bottleneck for a 7800. I suggest going with something a bit less powerful than the 7800 and upgrading your RAM to 1GB. So for a video card I would suggest something along the lines of a X800 or if that's no longer available, then the X1600/X1650 or the 7600 if you prefer nVidia. That extra 512MB of RAM will do you some real good when it comes to games.

Hardware enthusiast here - have to agree with Kash's assessment - have an X800 XL in my desktop, Although not when I purchased it, it is now a good value card if you can find it - don't play like I use to, but have thrown the last Tomb Raider and Far Cry at it, settings maxed and good frame rates for playing

Also, would recommend the X1600/1650 and the 7600.

i do have a 1.5 gb of ram already. So you really think the x1300 is that bad?

Ahh, didn't notice the one, just saw 1/2 a gig :bone:

That 5600 is REALLY old, you'll definitely see an improvement with the X1300, though more so with older games. Since you want to play the latest installment of C&C, then I highly recommend you stick with the recommendation I stated in my last post.
