HELP... I lost everything in my mac Address Book

I can't begin to tell you how it happened...

But... is there any where that my mac Address Book entries might be hidden somewhere and accessible?

Do you have a .mac account, and did you sync them online?

I have also lost all my address book data this morning. My address book seemed to hang and after I restart my imac, my address book was completely empty. I do not have a .mac account and did not make a backup (new to mac and still figuring out how it all works neye: ) Anything I could try to get my data?
