I have an older TV like most people I know. It is definitely Standard definition (480i). I am banking that Apple TV will work with 480i - at least I read that in one of the recent hacker articles - wasn't even a hack - supposedly a menu option in 'settings' - apparently something Apple cared not to publicize which i don't blame them.
Anyway, my DVD player hooks into my TV with the three-pronged cable with the red, white & yellow cables. Is this considered a component video connection? - one that supposedly would work with Apple TV?

Thanks.

Unfortunately, no. What you have is composite video.

Component will be Green, Red, Blue, Red, and White.
