So recently I started running folding@home. If you dont know what it is, basically a group at stanford is doing medical research and instead of using supercomputers to go through massive amounts of data, they give very small parts of the project to millions of home computers.
So basically the bottom line is that when it is running (and taking up basically all of my computer), it makes the fans run pretty much nonstop. Im using a 2.0ghz macbook. Its not overheating or anything, with the fans it only hovers around 175-185F, but is running the fans for long amount of times harmful to them? Ive got the entire laptop basically elevated with nothing below it. The main question is though, what kind of abuse are these fans able to take?
