i should start out by saying ive only been tinkering with a mac for a few days!..im having probs installing new os . basically ive got as far as trying to access the os install disc via a direct cable lan connection. I've got the network connection sorted (kind of!) and can access the shared folders on the pc. Ive set the permissions on the DVD drive to shared, but when i try to connect to it from the mac via the network i get 'error= - 36' and then the network fails. any ideas on whats going wrong? i have a feeling it might be because my pc cant recognise the mac os disc? any help appreciated!
