Good Morning! I hope somebody can help me. I have downloaded 'OpenOffice' but it just won't load for me. The little message said to install X11, so I (think) that I did. Is that what is in the Xcode package on the first disk that came with my shiny new computer?

Sorry if this is a silly question, but I am trying to learn as much as I can myself.

Cheers.

i'd suggest just using neooffice. same program, no need to mess with a tricky install.

You can download X11 and install it. Very simple, as simple as any other install on the Mac. There is a link from the OpenOffice website.

NeoOffice is still in beta, I prefer to run slightly more mature applications. Installing X will give you access to lots of Linux applications so its probably something good to have anyway.
