Jerky slideshow transitions

I've created a slideshow of photos from a friend's wedding. I've just burned a test copy but some of the slide movements seem somewhat jerky. Is there are way to fix this?

EDIT: sorry, although the heading refers to transitions, I don't mean the fading between slides, but the movement of the images across the screen using the Ken Burns effect.

you know I'd love to see an answer on this problem. I have been searching for months and can't find any help on it...
