So I started up my computer today iBook G4, have had it for about two years(warranty is over) Well, the File, Edit, View, History, etc etc. drop downs are all A's...in a box. Even the files on the desktop show A's. Leaving me with a useless computer cause I can't tell what is what.

If what christm said doesn't work use your reinstall discs to run an Archive Install, that should fix it up. This seems like it's a problem with your fonts.

You could also try downloading a Combo installer of 10.4.9 from Apple's website and install that.

Couldn't this be a corrupted Finder plist file, guys? Or again a corrupted cache in the system, font and/or user. I wonder...
