but..i just got a g4 ibook 1ghz and the chime comes on but the screen turns black, i bought it refurbished from geeks.com and i called them because i looked around and didnt see anything, if you couldplease help i would appreciate it,

do you see anything when you first turn it on -- i.e. you turn it on, see a gray screen, then the screen goes black?

never heard of this before though -- what did geeks.com say about it? It sounds like it might be their problem...

Maybe it is still sleeping? Does it work when you unplug/plug it in?
