Hey,

What's the best place (on the net or a store) to buy used Macs?
I want to buy a PowerMac G4 and make it a project to upgrade it over time.
I'm looking for something really cheap ($300 and under), so it dosent have to be a powerhouse because im going to upgrade it.

Your best bet is ebay. I just bought a G4 Digital Audio today on ebay. 533MHZ G4, 896 MB RAM, 40GB, DVD Rom, OSX Tiger, Zip Drive, Keyboard/Mouse for $219. Then $30 for shipping.

I also plan on upgrading it. fastmac.com gets good reviews. Im getting their 1.5GHZ upgrade. $269.99.

What do you do if a Mac you bought from ebay brakes down? Is there a warranty on it, at least for 90 days?

Buy them from online computer stores. This one was just guaranteed non DOA.

Show me a site where you can get a mac THAT old with a 90 day warranty and i'll give you rep. :)
