Reinstalling OSX on iBookG4

I just bought a used iBook G4 off of Ebay and I am trying to reinstall OSX on it.
I have the retail version of install disk. The computer recognizes the disk and everything. However, when it restarts I get a screen that looks like it tells you to install batteries to an optical mouse, and the other image is a mouse with a blinking light on top. Do I need to have a bluetooth mouse on hand to install OSX. I am new to Mac any help will be greatly appreciated.

No, not at all. You should just be able to re-install OS X with your iBook and a copy of OS X. Try re-installing it with no peripherals attached and see how that works out?

I tried unplugging usb harddrive and I still get that screen with the two mice
