I am a graphic design student but want to get into some video editing. Would I be better off with the things in iLife or should I go for the Final Cut Express HD.

I would start with the iLife if it came with your system. Then when you can not do what you want to do, then get Final Cut Express. If iLife is not on your sytem, then you may want to consider Final Cut Express.

I was thinking FC because Apple is having a promotion when you buy a new Mac. Without the promotion the software is like $300.:bomb:
