No, it doesn't recognize it even as a blank cd..

I have this problem with audiobooks from the library. They are being put out now in MP3 format rather than 'lossless' I guess. iTunes won't even play them. I have a copy of the Bible on a series of 5 of these MP3 discs. I guess since they are already compressed, iTunes isn't recognizing them.

Is there a setting in Preferences to handle these?

Well, thanks - but that didn't work either. It must be the

MP3 disc. Most books come in the full blown unabridged format work fine, but this is one of those new consensed MP3 discs. I guess it's like CD vs MP3 players. This is an MP3.

I'm sorry Farmcock.I have some Mp3 discs that work just fine.I'm at a lose to suggest anything.

What happens when you adjust your iTunes Preferences to import using mp3 ? (You'll find it under the advanced tab then import)

PS failling that this link may help for general Audio book questions
