Hi guys, I have a MB Core Duo. I will be running XP via parallels and I need to run a certain program (in-circuit simulator). I need it to code microprocessors, however -- before I can do that, when I plug in my microcontroller via serial-to-USB interface, I need to specify WHICH PORT the cable is connected to. Do any one of you know which port is which USB slot? It would help a lot.

If you're using a USB to serial adapter then it doesn't matter which physical USB socket you use. The operating system will assign a COM port for the serial device automatically based on however many it already has.

I'm going serial-to-USB, though.
