Recent [Jan 07] switcher, I want to open an HTML file as a text file, similiar to opening an html file with notepad under WinXP. TextEdit is evaluating the html. I just want text.

I'm thinking this should be pretty simple....

TIA

If you just need the text, I would open the HTML file in a browser, copy and paste into a word document.

Just open the HTML page in your browser then click "View Source" - under the edit menu in most browsers.

Then "Save As" > text.
