ichat mute other person

i'm talking to my girlfriend on ichat and she has a powerbook with isight. we stay on the webcm together while shes doing her homework and i just do nything i can especially watching a movie. can i mute her b/c her dog barks and i don't wnt to hear it but i need to hear my movie.
any help thanks
