Loud Humming Noise When Burning A CD

Are you sure is isn't just the CD spinning in the drive? Beyond this, I have no idea what it could be.

Could it just be the fan working harder? My mini tries to take off if I burn a disk...

Stop humming while you work.....sounds like the cd/dvd spinning.

Not all CD/DVDs are the same, even in the same batch. The noise like MaDDog suggested is most likely the spinning of the CD. Some disk are quiet, while others are loud. I believe we all have experience that from time to time.
